Yaya Mayweather Ordered to Pay $50.1M for Stabbing Case

Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, the daughter of retired boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, has been ordered by the District Court of Harris County, Texas, to pay $50.1 million in damages to Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, a woman she stabbed during an altercation on April 3, 2020. The court awarded Jacobs $40.1 million in compensatory damages for physical pain, mental anguish, lost earnings, and permanent disfigurement, along with an additional $10 million in exemplary damages due to Mayweather's intentional act of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The court mandated Mayweather to provide detailed financial statements, including bank account details and income streams, to facilitate the payment. Mayweather had previously pleaded guilty to criminal charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in April 2022, prior to the civil proceedings concluding.
