US Boosts Military Financing for Poland's F-35 Jets

On Friday, Poland's first F-35 fighter jet made its inaugural flight across NATO member states, marking a significant milestone as Poland becomes the first country on NATO's eastern flank to possess this advanced aircraft. The United States, represented by Thomas Dinanno, announced a new loan offer to Poland for arms purchases, increasing the total financing available to $20 billion.

Poland ordered 32 fifth-generation F-35 jets in a deal worth $4.6 billion in 2020, with the first three jets scheduled to arrive in May and complete delivery expected by 2029. Polish officials stated that the F-35 will provide a major boost to the country's defense capabilities, featuring stealth technology and advanced sensors for data collection.

The ceremony was attended by Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, highlighting the importance of this development in the context of rising threats from Russia.
