US Travelers Must Submit Nigerian Visa Applications Directly

The Nigeria Immigration Service announced on Thursday that US travelers seeking Nigerian visas are now required to submit their applications directly at the Nigerian embassy in Washington D.C. or at the consulates located in New York and Atlanta. This change comes as the Nigeria Immigration Service disengaged from the online integrated solution previously managing Nigeria's visa application submission centers in the US.

Akinsola Akinlabi, a representative from the Nigeria Immigration Service, did not provide a reason for this disengagement. However, he assured applicants that the Nigerian embassy and consulates in the United States have made adequate arrangements to ensure a seamless submission process and issuance of visas despite the changes in application procedures.

Akinlabi advised prospective applicants to regularly monitor official communication channels from the Nigerian mission in the United States for updates regarding visa application procedures, emphasizing the commitment of the Nigeria Immigration Service to deliver efficient and effective visa application services.
