UUBO Calls for Stakeholder Collaboration in Implementing Nigerian Data Protection Act

UUBO, represented by member Udo Udoma, emphasized the need for stakeholder collaboration in implementing the Nigerian Data Protection (NDP) Act during a privacy event in Lagos. The event, themed "Guiding Practices to Navigate Nigeria's New Privacy Directive," featured discussions on regulatory policies, compliance audits, and data protection impact assessments.

Vincent Olatunji of the Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC) outlined the operational blueprint of the NDP Act 2023, which aims to provide practical guidance for implementation. The Act, effective since September 19, 2025, replaces the NDPR 2019, setting regulatory guidelines for data protection compliance and audits.
