Sindarov Advances to World Chess Championship Against Gukesh

Uzbek chess grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov clinched victory in the Chess Candidates Tournament, securing a match for the world championship against India's 20-year-old Gukesh. Sindarov finished the tournament with 9.5 points, two points clear of second-place Anish Giri, who ended with 7.5 points.

Giri failed to convert a winning position against China's Wei Yi in a previous round. Sindarov expressed relief and happiness at finishing the tournament, describing it as one of the hardest weeks of his life.
