Akpabio Threatens Legal Action Over Faulty Assembly Microphones

On Wednesday, during a Senate plenary session, Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, expressed frustration over ongoing technical issues with microphones in the Senate chamber, which have repeatedly disrupted debates. Akpabio highlighted the embarrassment these malfunctions have caused to the legislature and indicated that he would not hesitate to explore legal options against the contractor responsible for the renovations if the defects are not rectified.

He recalled a similar embarrassing incident that occurred earlier in the week during an open session of the House of Representatives, where the contractor also faced criticism. Akpabio urged the Senate to take note of the situation and warned that future actions against the contractor would be based on the recurring failures.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the work done meets quality standards to avoid further embarrassment for the nation.
