Moro Bridge Collapse Disrupts Movement in Oyo State

On April 30, the Moro Bridge, a critical infrastructure linking parts of Oyo State, collapsed, significantly disrupting both vehicular and pedestrian movement. The Kwara State Government confirmed the incident, attributing the collapse to the weight of heavy-duty trucks.

In response, the government has directed the deployment of traffic management measures to control vehicular flow and minimize disruptions. They are also collaborating with federal authorities to commence work on alternative routes to ease traffic along the affected corridor.

The state government has appealed to motorists and residents to remain calm as efforts are made to address the situation. Furthermore, they reassured the public that work on a new Moro Bridge, located a few meters from the collapsed structure, is underway, aiming to provide a lasting solution to the connectivity issues caused by the bridge's failure.
