Taraba State Bridge Collapse Disrupts Rural Transport

The Gadan Mallam Audu Bridge in Taraba State collapsed following heavy rainfall, impacting transportation for hundreds of residents in rural communities. The bridge served as a vital route for farmers, traders, students, and civil servants across Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing, as well as parts of Adamawa State.

Hudu Adamu, a resident, reported that the bridge was essential for transporting agricultural products and livestock. Structural cracks had appeared on the bridge for several months, with reports made to the Yorro Local Government and the Taraba State Government, but no preventive measures were taken.

Kasimu Bello Maigari, a former member representing the Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency, called for urgent reconstruction efforts from both the Taraba State and Federal Governments to restore movement and services in the affected areas.
