Marine Veteran Ejected from Senate Hearing for Protest

On Wednesday, during a Senate Armed Services Subcommittee hearing, U.S. Marine veteran Brian McGinnis was forcibly ejected for protesting U.S. military action against Iran.

Dressed in military uniform, McGinnis interrupted the session, expressing his opposition to sending troops into conflict. Capitol Police attempted to remove him, leading to a struggle where McGinnis reportedly injured his arm.

He later claimed his arm was broken during the incident. Following his ejection, McGinnis was arrested and transported to George Washington University Hospital.

He faces three counts of assaulting police officers, three counts of resisting arrest, and one count of obstructing an official proceeding. His campaign manager, Mark Elbourn, confirmed the incident and stated that McGinnis merely wanted to be heard.

The protest highlighted McGinnis's concerns about sending service members into harm's way, reflecting a broader disillusionment with government actions regarding military engagements.
