Nigerian Students Threaten Action Against SA Businesses

Dr. Meshach Nwankwo, President of the National Association of University Students, announced that university students in Nigeria are prepared to mobilize legal action against South African-owned businesses operating in Nigeria.

This decision follows allegations of xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa, which have not been adequately addressed. Nwankwo made this declaration in a video aired on New Century Television, condemning the repeated attacks on Nigerians and calling for decisive action from the South African government.

He stated that if no action is taken within a week, they will initiate legal proceedings to ensure that South African businesses in Nigeria are shut down. Nwankwo emphasized the need for the South African government to thoroughly investigate these allegations and hold those responsible accountable.

He also expressed deep concern over the safety of Nigerians living in South Africa and reiterated the association's commitment to advocating for the dignity and safety of Nigerian citizens.
