WACT-APM Terminals Nigeria Awards 52 New Scholarships

West Africa Container Terminal (WACT)-APM Terminals Nigeria expanded its scholarship initiative by awarding scholarships to 52 new beneficiaries, which includes 47 students from host communities and 5 children of employees. This brings the total number of beneficiaries under the WACT Scholarship Scheme to 193.

The scholarship award ceremony was attended by the WACT Management team, the Country CEO of APM Terminals Nigeria, Frederik Klinke, community leaders, parents, guardians, employees, and student beneficiaries. WACT Managing Director, Courage Obadagbonyi, described the scholarship program as an investment in the future of the students and their communities, aimed at empowering them to become leaders.

He congratulated the beneficiaries for their academic achievements and acknowledged the support of their parents and guardians. This event marked the fifth edition of the scholarship award ceremony since the launch of WACT’s transformation initiatives in 2021, which focus on Transparency, Visibility, and Inclusivity.

Klinke highlighted the scholarship scheme as a significant social sustainability initiative aligned with the company's purpose of facilitating trade and supporting national development.
