WACT and APM Terminals Graduate First EngineerHer Cohort

WACT and APM Terminals Nigeria celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the EngineerHer Programme, which commenced in 2023. This initiative is designed to equip female graduates with practical skills and industry exposure, creating a clear pathway to employment.

The program aims to increase female representation within WACT and strengthen Nigeria's local talent pipeline through a combination of technical training, hands-on experience, and mentorship. The first cohort included eight participants who were selected for their potential and commitment to building careers in the maritime sector.

Chinelo Obienyem, a senior official at WACT, stated that the program empowers Nigerian women with the technical skills necessary to thrive in their chosen fields. The next cohort is set to begin on July 1, 2026, as part of WACT's ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive workforce in Nigeria.
