Germany and Nigeria Seek Stronger Partnership Amid Security Challenges

Wadephul stated that security is essential for investment and building prosperous lives, highlighting the need for a reliable partnership between Germany and Nigeria. He expressed Germany's commitment to deepening this partnership based on mutual respect and shared interests.

Wadephul noted that no country can solve today's challenges alone, including security, climate, and economic transformation. He mentioned that German companies are already investing in Nigeria, creating jobs and fostering long-term partnerships, particularly in sectors like pharmaceuticals, construction, and energy.

He acknowledged the complex security challenges but emphasized the importance of strong institutions and economic opportunities. Wadephul also referenced the German Technical Advisory Group's role in assisting Nigerian military personnel and the need for joint efforts to enhance security in the North East Nigeria and Lake Chad Basin.

He expressed eagerness to meet with Nigerian Foreign Minister Ms. Odumegwu Ojukwu and ECOWAS Commission President Mr.

Tourai during his visit.
