AAC Candidate Promises N5bn Mining Revenue for Osun

The AAC gubernatorial candidate for Osun State has pledged to generate N5 billion annually from mining activities, specifically targeting gold mining in Ilesha. The candidate's manifesto outlines a roadmap built on five transformative pillars aimed at restoring power to the people and building a self-reliant economy.

The plan includes establishing the Osun State Investment Bank to manage revenues and strategically invest in key sectors. The candidate emphasizes the importance of agriculture, proposing the creation of special farmer clusters for crops like cocoa, cassava, and maize to enhance trade and food security.

Additionally, a tech hub is planned to provide training in software development and other skills, aiming to create 8,000 to 12,000 direct jobs within three years. The initiative also includes a youth infrastructure corps to address infrastructural deficits and empower local youth through training and job opportunities in civil engineering and technical skills.
