Kano State Revokes Contracts for Poor Performance

The Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced the revocation of several contracts due to the contractors' failure to meet their contractual obligations. Nura Ma Aji Sumaila, during a press briefing, revealed that the government has executed 1,508 projects across the state's 44 local government areas, with 799 projects completed and 709 at various stages of completion.

The administration has emphasized its commitment to quality project delivery and prudent management of public funds, having paid contractors N600 billion in outstanding payments based on project milestones. The projects span critical sectors, including road construction, urban renewal, security, healthcare, education, transport, water supply, and social infrastructure, aimed at improving the living conditions of residents.

Additionally, the Kano State Government has invested N6.8 billion in constructing neighborhood watch security divisions across 36 local government areas to strengthen community policing and enhance public safety.
