Ogun Kidnap Victims Share Harrowing Rescue Stories

Four victims of a kidnapping incident in Ogun State shared their traumatic experiences after being rescued. Temiloluwa Faith recounted the moment they were ambushed by five heavily armed kidnappers around 4 PM, during which she was injured and had her belongings taken.

The victims were forced to trek barefoot through thick forest for nearly four hours. Jimoh Gbadamosi, another victim, revealed that the gang leader, who spoke fluent Fulani, demanded ransoms ranging from N30 million to N70 million for their release.

Families were pressured to negotiate, with one victim's family managing to reduce the ransom from N50 million to N40 million. Ogechi Onuorah, another victim, noted that the kidnappers targeted individuals from the Igbo community, claiming their case was different due to ethnic tensions.

The ordeal highlighted the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria, particularly related to kidnapping for ransom.
