Ogun Residents Freed After Ransom Payment in Kidnapping

Two residents from the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area in Ogun State were released on Thursday after their families paid a ransom following their abduction. The victims, identified as Kelvin Moyegun and Kehind Rufai, were kidnapped by four armed assailants who reportedly demanded N50 million for their release.

The families chose not to disclose the ransom amount to prevent potential reprisals. Upon their release, the victims were reported to be unhurt and were seen returning home.

The Ogun State Police Command, led by Public Relations Officer Babaseyi Oluseyi, had deployed operations to rescue the victims and arrest the kidnappers. This incident is part of a broader trend of kidnapping crimes in Ogun State, prompting local law enforcement to enhance their efforts in combating such criminal activities.
