Plateau MOPOL Officers Claim 7-Month Allowance Delay

Mobile Police (MOPOL) officers deployed for peacekeeping operations in Plateau State have reported that they have not received their monthly allowances for seven months, alleging that funds released by the state government are being diverted. The officers, deployed from Kano State to various local government areas in December 2025, were promised a monthly allowance of N150,000 each but have only received payment for December.

They claim that while the Plateau State Government has continued to release funds, they have not received any payments from January to July. The officers described their situation as dire, stating that their salaries are insufficient to cover living costs in remote areas.

They appealed to the Inspector-General of Police for an investigation into the matter. The Force Public Relations Officer, Anietie Iniedu, clarified that the Nigeria Police Force does not handle the allowances for these officers, advising them to utilize internal complaint mechanisms.
