Kefas Urges Accountability in Taraba State Governance

On Thursday, during a press briefing in Jalingo to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas called on the media, civil society organizations, citizens, and opposition parties to actively scrutinize government activities and hold public officials accountable. He stated that questioning authority is a vital aspect of democracy and that the government should not fear scrutiny.

Kefas acknowledged the unresolved challenges in the state, including road infrastructure, access to potable water, electricity, education, healthcare, employment, and security. He emphasized that while his administration, which took office in 2023, inherited significant challenges, these should not serve as excuses for failure.

The governor stressed the need for public scrutiny of government spending and projects, urging critics to base their assessments on facts rather than assumptions. He encouraged citizens to engage with government projects and communities to ensure accountability.
