German AI Coach Shares Lessons from Nigeria Experience

Mira Wörgötter, a German AI coach, relocated from Germany to Lagos, Nigeria, six months ago to establish a business. Previously, she coached executives from major German firms such as Siemens and Bosch on artificial intelligence implementation.

On August 31, 2026, she shared five lessons learned during her initial months in Nigeria. Wörgötter observed a gap between verbal enthusiasm and actual commitment, noting that while people express excitement quickly, this does not always lead to payment.

She emphasized the importance of building genuine trust over time, as relationships matter more than polished presentations. Additionally, she found that humor can facilitate business interactions, with her lighthearted LinkedIn posts generating more customer engagement than formal content.

Wörgötter also remarked on the significance of appearance in professional settings, stating that unkempt clothing can undermine credibility. Lastly, she noted the youthful demographic in Nigeria, working with individuals 20 to 25 years younger than her typical counterparts in Germany.
