Blaqbonez Reveals Origin of His Stage Name in Interview

Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, shared the origin of his stage name during an interview on the Tea With Tay podcast. He disclosed that the name originally belonged to a friend who had an interest in rap but was not actively pursuing a music career.

Blaqbonez approached his friend while they were still in school, expressing his desire to use the name because he liked it. He stated, “I stole it, you know, it was my friend’s name.

There was Blaqbonez and he wasn’t using it for anything... So, one day I just said, bro, you know, dey use this name.

I like am, and that’s how I started bearing Blaqbonez.” He emphasized that his friend was not utilizing the name for any purpose at the time, which led to Blaqbonez adopting it for his own music career.
