Why next INEC chairman should not be a professor— Brigadier General Sura (retd)

Retired Brigadier General Sura expressed his personal opinion that the next INEC chairman should not be a professor, likening the decision to a general leaving the battlefield to a less competent soldier. He emphasized the need for a competent leader to ensure the success of the electoral process.

General Sura also highlighted the importance of unity within the PDP at both national and state levels, expressing concern over the party losing members and facing opposition. He called for the protection and development of Plateau State, suggesting solutions for issues such as the resettlement of IDPs and the restoration of economic activities.

General Sura criticized the lack of action on reports submitted by committees and urged the government to prioritize security measures, including the revival of Operation Rainbow. He emphasized the need for dialogue, community involvement, and the strengthening of local security outfits to address insecurity effectively.

General Sura also discussed the need for reconciliation within the PDP to enhance the party's prospects in upcoming elections.
