Nigerian Army Dismisses Soja Boy's Claims on Welfare

The Nigerian Army has refuted claims made by Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as Soja Boy, regarding the welfare and remuneration of its personnel. Colonel Appolonia Anel, the acting director of Army Public Relations, issued a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, clarifying that Olamilekan was not dismissed for speaking the truth but due to persistent acts of indiscipline, including violations of the Army's social media policy.

The Army emphasized that it operates under a strict code of conduct and that unauthorized media appearances and commercial exploitation of military identity constitute clear breaches of established regulations. Colonel Anel further clarified that soldiers do not receive additional benefits beyond their basic salaries and that claims regarding the need for soldiers to purchase uniforms and protective equipment are entirely false.

The Army maintains that it prioritizes the welfare and safety of its personnel by providing necessary equipment and support for operations.
