Nigerian Army Dismisses Soja Boi for Indiscipline

The Nigerian Army officially dismissed Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as Soja Boi, due to repeated acts of indiscipline and violations of social media policies. This decision was clarified in a statement issued on Tuesday by Appolonia Anel, the Director of Army Public Relations.

Olamilekan's dismissal was linked to a viral video released in February 2026, where he criticized political leaders, urging them to send their children to experience military service firsthand. The Army emphasized that his actions contravened established military regulations, including unauthorized media appearances and the misuse of military uniforms.

Following the video's release, Olamilekan was reportedly arrested and detained for several weeks, which sparked the #FreeSojaBoi campaign on social media. Despite the Army's position on his dismissal, Olamilekan expressed gratitude for the support he received during his difficult time and maintained that his removal was connected to the viral video.
