APC's Dayo Israel Analyzes Osun Election Loss Factors

Dayo Israel, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), provided an assessment of the party's performance in the recent Osun State governorship election, stating that the APC failed to connect with the electorate. In a post on his official X handle, Israel noted that the party underestimated Governor Adeleke, who was often mocked as the "Dancing Governor." He argued that Adeleke's dancing was not a weakness but a political tool that helped him connect emotionally with voters.

Israel emphasized that Osun's politics is deeply rooted in community and culture, which cannot be understood through elite discourse alone. He criticized the APC's campaign council, led by Senator Hope Uzodinma, for lacking genuine connection with young Nigerians and for not reviewing the campaign's progress since its inauguration.

Israel concluded that the party must recognize that electoral success is driven by understanding the electorate's emotions and identities, rather than solely by policy.
