Governor Wike Gives Contractors 3-Day Ultimatum to Clear Refuse in Abuja

Governor Wike of Rivers State issued a 3-day ultimatum to contractors working on road projects along the Karu-Bwari-Kubwa-Apo-Karshi road corridor in Abuja. During an inspection by Mr.

Abdulkadir Zulkiflu from the FCT Satellite Town Development Department, concerns were raised about the growing heaps of refuse in the area. Wike emphasized the need for full compliance with waste management regulations and warned that contracts would be terminated for non-compliance.

He stressed the importance of proper waste management to address one of the biggest challenges facing the capital city. Wike also highlighted the government's commitment to cleanliness and environmental restoration in the satellite towns.

Contractors were urged to demonstrate capacity and efficiency in waste management to continue working on the projects.
