Wike Challenges Critics, Threatens Resignation Over Roads

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that he would resign from President Bola Tinubu's cabinet if anyone can prove that the road construction figures for Abuja's satellite towns are inaccurate. This statement was made on Friday during the inauguration of the reconstructed Arab Gbazango road in Kubwa, which is part of ongoing infrastructure projects by the Tinubu administration.

Wike highlighted the completion of 221 kilometers of roads and the awarding of 317 kilometers across satellite communities since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023. He emphasized the positive impact of these projects on residents and challenged critics to provide evidence against the administration's claims.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tajudeen Abba, who praised Wike for improving the Federal Capital Territory's infrastructure, including transport and agricultural productivity. Wike's remarks come amid ongoing debates about the pace of infrastructure delivery under the Tinubu administration.
