Wike Welcomes Fubara Back, Emphasizes Political Unity

On Monday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, welcomed Governor Siminalayi Fubara back into the political fold, asserting that “politics is not a sin.” Wike stated that Fubara had “no other choice” but to return to the political family that initially supported his rise to power. This reconciliation, according to Wike, would enhance efforts to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign for the 2027 general elections.

Wike dismissed the idea of “sin” in politics, suggesting that recognizing past mistakes and correcting them is a valid political move. He expressed satisfaction with Fubara’s public declaration of reconciliation and emphasized the importance of unity in achieving electoral success.

Wike made these remarks while inspecting ongoing road projects in the Federal Capital Territory, including the ISEX Road Corridor and the Apo-Karshi Road, which are expected to facilitate development in the area. He noted that the contractor assured the completion of the ISEX Road by December.
