Wike's Coalition Threatens APC, Ex-Tinubu Aide Warns

Denge Josef Onoh, a former aide to President Bola Tinubu and Chairman of the Forum of Former Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, expressed concerns regarding the Nyesom Wike-backed "Rainbow Coalition." He warned that its political activities could threaten the cohesion and survival of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement released in Abuja, Onoh supported the Progressive Governors Forum's stance against the coalition, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, which he termed a "courageous act of political preservation." Onoh alleged that the coalition, while presented as a support platform for Tinubu's re-election, could weaken the APC by fostering divided loyalties and creating parallel political structures.

He claimed the coalition's ambitions extend beyond 2027, aiming to influence the 2031 elections, including the vice-presidential ticket. Onoh urged APC leaders to protect the party's structures and prevent opposition-backed platforms from causing confusion within the party.
