Senior figures within the All Progressives Congress are publicly opposing the National Rainbow Coalition championed by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The coalition brings together politicians from multiple parties under a single banner, with Wike arguing it exists to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu's presidential ambitions in 2027 while allowing members to contest elections under their original party platforms.

APC insiders contend the arrangement poses operational and electoral difficulties for the ruling party.
