Serena Williams Returns to Wimbledon Singles Action

Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, is making her return to singles action at Wimbledon after a nearly four-year hiatus since her last singles match at the US Open in 2022. The 44-year-old American tennis legend received a wild card entry into the tournament, where she has previously won seven titles.

Williams recently made a comeback by playing doubles at the Berlin Open earlier in June. In the first round, she is set to face 29th seed Alexandra Eala from the Philippines, who is currently ranked world number 53.

If victorious, Williams could potentially meet reigning champion Iga Swiatek in a highly anticipated third-round match. Williams has been practicing at Wimbledon in preparation for her return to the sport.
