Nigeria's Broadband Penetration Falls Short of 70% 2025 Target

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) revealed that Nigeria's broadband penetration rate was at 49.89% in October 2025, below the 70% target set for 2025. The NCC aims to surpass a 50% threshold by the end of 2023.

Despite a 16% GDP increase in Q2 2023 due to the telecom sector, broadband subscriptions fluctuated in 2025. With 108 million broadband subscriptions in October 2025, Nigeria faces challenges in achieving its ambitious broadband penetration goals.
