Woman Recovers N1.64m Mistakenly Sent to Pastor's Church

Sandra Okpara, a single mother of two, mistakenly transferred N1,640,200 to an account linked to Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International. After realizing the error, she initially approached Zenith Bank for recovery but was unsuccessful.

Okpara then appealed for help via social media, which attracted significant attention. The church responded after seeing her video and confirmed they had not received any prior complaints from her.

Following an investigation, they returned the funds to Okpara on Saturday, a day after her appeal. She confirmed the refund and clarified that her intention was not to tarnish the church's reputation but to seek assistance.

Okpara had previously made a smaller transfer of N1,000 as an offering before the erroneous transaction occurred.
