FIFA to Distribute 100,000 Soccer Balls Across 500 US Cities for World Cup 2026

FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed plans to distribute 100,000 soccer balls to 500 cities in the United States as part of the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026. The announcement was made during a meeting at the United States Conference of Mayors winter gathering in Washington D.C.

The initiative aims to generate excitement ahead of the tournament, which will see the U.S., Canada, and Mexico co-hosting. Infantino highlighted the importance of football in bringing people together and fostering a sense of unity.

The event is set to kick off on June 11, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches, and 16 host cities across the three countries. The tournament is expected to provide a significant economic boost, with projections of USD 30 billion and seven million fans attending from around the world.
