Gombe Governor Yahaya Sends 23 Commissioner Nominees

On June 29, 2026, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State formally transmitted a list of 23 commissioner nominees to the Gombe State House of Assembly, addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon.

Abubakar Moham Luggerewo. This action is in accordance with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and seeks the Assembly's approval to appoint these nominees to assist in formulating and implementing government policies effectively.

The nominees include Alhaji Abdulkadir Moham Waziri, Alhaji Sanusi Ahm, Hajiya Aishatu Moham, and others. Governor Yahaya expressed confidence that the lawmakers would expedite the consideration of this request.

The Assembly is expected to begin screening the nominees soon, and upon confirmation, they will be sworn in and assigned portfolios within the state executive council.
