Gombe Governor Inaugurates 23 New Commissioners

On Saturday, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya inaugurated 23 new commissioners, charging them to "hit the ground running" and immediately begin their work without delay. During the swearing-in ceremony at the Government House in Gombe, Yahaya stressed the importance of delivering quality governance and implementing government policies effectively within the remaining year of his administration.

He described the appointments as a matter of public trust and urged the new officials to approach their responsibilities with integrity and discipline. Yahaya commended the Gombe State House of Assembly for swiftly confirming the nominees and highlighted the importance of a cooperative relationship between the executive and legislative branches.

He emphasized that the newly appointed commissioners should provide strategic, evidence-based recommendations and look beyond routine functions to ensure tangible benefits for citizens. The governor also warned against corruption and the abuse of office, asserting that his administration would not tolerate such actions as the 2027 elections approach.
