Tinubu Approves Reconstruction of Key Taraba Road

Hon. Jafaru Yakubu, a Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Nigeria–China Friendship Group, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the urgent rehabilitation and total reconstruction of the Mutum Biyu–Garba Chede road, a 48km stretch in Taraba State. Yakubu sponsored a motion in the House that led to this approval, emphasizing the dangers of neglecting the road, which has resulted in accidents and economic disruption.

He acknowledged National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for his non-kinetic approach to the crisis, which highlighted the road's deterioration and its impact on lives and trade. The road, built in the early 1980s, has worsened due to age and lack of maintenance, becoming the only route for heavy-duty trucks after the Namnai Bridge's collapse.

Yakubu assured constituents of his commitment to work with relevant agencies for the project's swift execution and emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in national development.
