Yari's Appointment Strengthens Tinubu's 2027 Campaign

Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, the Convener of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG), expressed strong support for Senator Abdulaziz Yari's appointment as Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. Atoyebi described the appointment as strategic and well-deserved, despite mixed reactions.

He noted that since September 2025, he has assessed Yari’s political career and grassroots activities, concluding that Yari is well-suited for the role. Atoyebi became interested in Yari's political trajectory after learning of his efforts to engage support groups for the upcoming elections.

He emphasized Yari's considerable grassroots reach and highlighted an encounter with Yari’s political network at a forum in Abuja. Atoyebi also mentioned Yari's private-sector experience, particularly his role as Chairman of Geregu Power Plc since December 2025.

He believes Yari can effectively mobilize support across the North-West, North-East, and North-Central regions, contributing to a robust national campaign structure alongside experienced politicians like Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
