Damaturu Flyover Project Nears Completion, Says Gov Buni

Yobe State Governor, Buni, stated that the Damaturu flyover project is nearing completion and will significantly ease traffic congestion and curb flooding in the state capital. The project aims to address longstanding transportation and drainage challenges at a major road intersection known as Cross, which has served traffic since its construction in 1973.

Despite the increase in vehicular movement since the creation of Yobe State in 1991, the road network has not expanded. The state government awarded the contract for the flyover to Triacta Construction Company, with a completion timeline set for 2025.

The project will also include the reconstruction and expansion of a 6.6-kilometer stretch of road and the addition of five petrol stations. Governor Buni also mentioned ongoing urban renewal projects in Damaturu, including the completion of a modern market and a near-complete motor park that will feature various facilities such as a passenger hostel and a police station.
