Yobe State Transfers Agro-Industrial Assets to NFC

The Yobe State Government officially handed over four agro-industrial assets to the Nigeria Food Corporation (NFC) to revive moribund industries and enhance agro-processing in the state. The assets transferred include Yobe Flour & Feeds Mills Company Limited, Wheat Flour Global Mills Company Limited, Yobe State Fertilizer Blending Company, Gujba Limited, and the Damaturu Modern Abattoir.

The handover ceremony took place at the Governor’s Office in Damaturu, chaired by the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr Mohammed Goje. This initiative aligns with Governor Mai Mala Buni's vision to position Yobe as a competitive agro-industrial hub, aimed at increasing productivity, creating jobs, and expanding the state’s revenue base.

The transfer documents were signed by Dr Sa’id Alkali Kori, Chairman of the NFC Board, and witnessed by other officials. The NFC is expected to coordinate the rehabilitation and development of these assets as part of Yobe’s broader Agro-Food Industrial Revolution.
