Yobe State Approves N460.8m for Women Entrepreneurs

The Yobe State Government, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, has approved the release of N460.8 million to support female small-scale business owners across the state, particularly targeting akara sellers. During a meeting at the Government House in Damaturu, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, announced that the funds will be used to procure beans, which will be distributed to beneficiaries as part of a support package.

This initiative is expected to complement materials already acquired by the government. Selected female entrepreneurs will receive beans, cooking oil, smokeless stoves, and kitchen utensils.

The initiative reflects the administration's commitment to empowering women at the grassroots level, particularly those involved in small-scale businesses that contribute to household income and local economic activities. Additionally, the Executive Council approved an empowerment initiative valued at N364.48 million for the purchase of 1,000 Yamaha GX 390 grinding machines to assist beneficiaries in establishing and expanding small businesses, thereby creating additional sources of family income.
