Yobe State Approves N73.32bn for Agriculture and Development

The Yobe State Executive Council, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, approved a budget of N73.32 billion during a meeting held at the Government House in Damaturu. The allocation includes N28.53 billion for agricultural tools as part of a 2026 mega agricultural empowerment program aimed at boosting food production and supporting farmers.

Additionally, N23.97 billion was allocated for two road projects, including N21.9 billion for the rehabilitation of the 45-kilometer Kalallawa-Kaliyari road and N2.07 billion for the construction of a seven-kilometer road linking Damagum to Gubana. Other approvals include N4.94 billion for a modern motor park and grain market in Buni Yadi, N3.95 billion for a shop mall in Gujba, and N2.25 billion for the purchase of 208 housing units.

The council also approved N460.83 million for bean procurement to support female small-scale entrepreneurs and N364.48 million for grinding machines to enhance livelihoods.
