Yomi Fabiyi Demands Justice for Mohbad Ahead of Anniversary

On September 9, 2026, actor Yomi Fabiyi revisited the unresolved death of Nigerian music star Mohbad, sharing a photograph of the singer's corpse on Instagram. As the third anniversary of Mohbad's death approaches on September 11, 2023, Fabiyi urged Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu to take immediate action.

He alleged that a secret lover, Omowunmi Cynthia Adebanjo, visited Mohbad's home early on the morning of his death and participated in an assault that led to his demise. Fabiyi cited physical evidence, including blood-soaked bedding and the condition of Mohbad's body.

He claimed that Mohbad's father confirmed that Adebanjo entered the home and beat him to death, while Mohbad's mother stated that more than three individuals attacked her son that night. Fabiyi named a former soldier known as Zomo as the lead suspect and called for the arrest and prosecution of Zomo and others, including Adura, Darosha, and Spending, without delay.
