Kaduna NBA Commends Governor Uba Sani for Judiciary Support

The Kaduna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) praised Governor Uba Sani for his efforts to improve the Administration of Justice by strengthening the judiciary. In a statement from Chairman Baba Lawal Aliyu, the NBA acknowledged the significant renovation and rehabilitation of the High Court complex, which is expected to enhance the working environment and performance of judicial officers.

The Governor's provision of 40 official vehicles to judges of the High Court, Shari’ah Court of Appeal, and Customary Court of Appeal was also commended. Additionally, the restoration of robe allowances for magistrates, including the payment of the outstanding 2024 allowance in 2025, was recognized as a positive initiative.

However, the NBA urged the Governor to extend similar support to lower courts, emphasizing that magistrates and judicial officers at these courts require adequate logistical and infrastructural support to effectively deliver justice. The statement concluded that continued investment in the judiciary would enhance access to justice and strengthen public confidence in the justice system.
