Sokoto NBA Chairman Pledges to Uphold Rule of Law

Ismail Umar has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Sokoto branch, with Barrister Bashir Muazu Jodi outlining his commitment to uphold the rule of law. In a statement made to journalists in Sokoto State, Jodi emphasized the importance of enhancing member welfare and addressing issues related to the congestion in correctional facilities.

He identified the independence of the bar and administration as top priorities and praised the existing cordial relationship between the bar and the bench in Sokoto State. Jodi pledged to sustain this relationship to bolster the speedy dispensation of justice.

He also highlighted the need for NBA leadership to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the swift trial of inmates and improve public perception of the judiciary. Jodi called on members of the bar to support the administration in defending the rule of law and promised that his tenure would leave the Sokoto bar as a stronger unit.
