ADC Slams Wike for Insensitive Remarks at Burial

The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) condemned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for taunting Rotimi Amaechi during the burial of Amaechi's mother. Wike reportedly stated that Amaechi, the ADC's vice presidential candidate, would be defeated by noon on election day.

ADC chairman Chukwudi Dimkpa criticized Wike's behavior at the burial in Omagwa, describing it as politically reckless and insensitive. Dimkpa stated that while people were mourning and paying their respects, Wike and Ikwerre Local Government Chairman Charles Wobodo turned the occasion into a political event, obstructing traffic and making provocative statements.

He asserted that elections are determined by the votes of the people, not by intimidation or pre-announced results. Dimkpa urged Rivers residents to focus on electing credible leaders in the upcoming 2027 elections and not to be intimidated by political rivalries.
