ADC Critiques Wike's Comments on Amaechi's Influence

The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) responded to comments made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding former Governor Rotimi Amaechi. Chizy Enyi, the ADC's Publicity Secretary, stated that Wike's remarks reflect anxiety about the ADC's growing popularity in the state.

Wike claimed that Amaechi lacks the political influence to secure votes in Rivers State and the South-South region, citing his failure to achieve electoral victories in recent years. Enyi countered that Wike's attempts to undermine Amaechi's legacy will not change the fact that Amaechi is a significant political figure in Rivers State.

He criticized Wike for focusing on personal attacks instead of addressing pressing issues such as the economy, insecurity, and unemployment, which are of greater concern to the residents. Enyi concluded that Wike's contradictory statements indicate a lack of confidence in his political standing.
