PDP's Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo Mocks Opposition Ahead of Polls

Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, addressed party members at the Ijemo Zone meeting in Ward 5, Abeokuta South, over the weekend. She stated that the PDP would not abandon opposition members after defeating them in the elections.

Kolapo reassured the opposition that they would still be able to "eat" after being "thrashed" at the polls, emphasizing that politics should not disrupt the bonds among the people of Ogun State. She acknowledged the apprehension among opposition members but claimed that the political landscape in Ogun had evolved beyond personal interests that have caused hardship for residents.

Kolapo, who holds the title of Iya Sunnah of Egbaland, highlighted her longstanding relationship with the people of Egbaland and reiterated that their welfare is a priority. She called on residents to support PDP candidates for the National Assembly and Ogun State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections.
