Young Ogoni Lawyers Urged to Combat Social Vices

On Wednesday, Hon. Dumnamen Dekor, a member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in Rivers State, called on young Ogoni lawyers to lead the fight against social vices and champion development in their communities. This statement was made during a courtesy visit by members of the 2025 Ogoni Bar aspirants in Abuja.

Dekor urged the newly inducted lawyers to utilize their profession as a tool for community transformation and to actively participate in legal advocacy and mentorship. He congratulated the young legal practitioners on their achievements and expressed pride in their intellectual capacity, emphasizing that Ogoni people should no longer be marginalized.

Dekor raised concerns about the rising cases of cultism and drug abuse among the youth, describing these trends as threats to the future of Ogoni land. He appealed for patience amid Nigeria's economic challenges and encouraged young Nigerians to contribute to national development rather than seeking opportunities abroad.
