Youth Ministry Collaborates with NIMC on Digital Identity

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development, led by Comrade Ayodel Olawand, has announced a partnership with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to expand digital identity enrollment among Nigerian youth. This initiative aims to improve access to opportunities within the country's digital economy.

The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by NIMC's Director General, Engr. Abisoy Coker Odusot, on a Friday.

This collaboration supports President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which promotes digital inclusion and empowers youth through innovation. The enactment of the NIMC Act 2026 is seen as a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria's digital identity system to align with global standards.

The ministry emphasizes that the National Identification Number (NIN) is essential for accessing government services, including education, employment, healthcare, and financial services. The partnership aims to increase NIN enrollment among youth and promote awareness of digital identity through nationwide programs.
